MISSISSAUGA, Ontario – Sugatsune Canada Inc. will showcase a wide variety of functional hardware products for residential and commercial applications at the 2022 Woodworking Machinery & Supply Conference & Expo (WMS).  Products Sugatsune plans to display during the three-day show, Feb. 24-26 at the International Centre, include:

The Aileron is a lid support kit with adjustable lift assist, free stop, and soft-close functions that creates a smooth user experience. Engineered to make installation quick and flexible, the Aileron is mounted to the top of an upper cabinet or top box by clipping it onto the hinge. The lift’s design free ups space for greater storage.

The Aileron set incorporates the Olympia hinge. It is the first of its kind to be built with Sugatsune’s patented Lapcon technology offering five-speed adjustable soft closing controlled by simply manipulating the clicker. The mechanism catches the lid at 0°–30° preventing it from slamming shut. The Olympia hinge has also successfully passed 200,000 cycle tests, Sugatsune says. (See video above.)

The GS-G series glass showcase hardware features a glass door lock, hinges, and bracket for total coordination that allows for a seamless design to compliment the items within the showcase. There are three sets available – each in three finishes -- for different sizes of glass pivot doors in glass to glass or glass to wood configurations. This glass showcase hardware can support glass door weight of 11 lbs up to 110 lbs depending on the model. Watch video.

The LIN-X800 is a lateral door opening system for medium- to large-sized doors. It saves space and offers full entry to the inner cabinet. The LIN-X800’s lateral motion offers a small radius of opening compared to standard swing doors. There is soft closing for smooth motion and safety. For a door weight of up to 88 lbs., the LIN-X800 is ideally used for pantry, closet entryway, storage, or hidden room doors. Designers can achieve the walk-in closet effect by using medium-sized double doors for a wardrobe by using the LIN-X800. The LIN-X800H can accommodate door heights up to 117 5/16". Watch video.

The FD80 sliding door hardware system is available with recessed or surface-mounted rollers, with a weight capacity of up to 176 lbs. Built-in soft-close and soft-open dampers allow doors to move smoothly and safely. Sugatsune describes the FD80 as a “headache-free pocket door solution” due to its ease of installation and ability to make post-installation adjustments. The company says the FD80 passed 200,000 private cycle tests for opening and closing to ensure durability. The system’s two-rail mechanism allows access to all of the components from the opening. The EB series of folding brackets, made of 304 stainless steel, offers three models with varying sizes and weight capacities up to 440 lbs. This folding bracket locks the flap in the opened position and releases it back to the wall or counter by the press of a lever. The EB series is designed for use in floating countertops, workstations or path circulation clearance.

The new Lever Release series for EB folding brackets allows easy operation for larger flaps, where two or more folding brackets are used. There is a push mechanism on the handles, which may be activated to lock and release levers with just one hand. (See video below.)
